MARK HERRIN (14 Smack)
     

Mark Herrin has been associated with Oklahoma volleyball since 1985 when he took over as the Head Coach at Collinsville High School.  In his five years at Collinsville he won 4 Regional Championships and two State Championships. 

He was named the Region Coach of the year twice and was the Oklahoma Coach of the year in 1989.  Mark was a co-founder of the Oklahoma Volleyball Coaches Association and served as their first President.  He was also chosen to coach the East Team in the first Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State match.  His career high school record was 107-46.

     As the Head Coach for the University of Central Oklahoma, Mark compiled a career record of 304-155 in 13 seasons.  He was twice named Coach of the Year as he guided the Bronchos to two NCAA appearances, advancing to the "Sweet 16" in 1994.  He has served on numerous NCAA and Lone Star Conference Committees, has been published in several volleyball related periodicals and continues to stay actively involved with the United States Volleyball Association as the Site Director for the USA Men's and Women's Sitting Volleyball teams.  However, his greatest accomplishment while a college coach was having a 100% graduation rate for all 13 seasons.

     Mark served as the head coach for the 14 Smack team last season that advanced to the National Championships.  His team finished 2nd at two national qualifiers (Lone Star and Mid-East Qualifier). He is a past Board Member of the Oklahoma Region Volleyball Association and is a current Board Member for OP2.  Mark is married to Deanna and they have 3 children: Emily, Brett, and Carly.Close Window
