Nicole Gruenbacher played high school volleyball at Edmond Memorial where she earned four varsity letters and won a state championship her senior year under head coach Edgar Miraku. During her high school career, she played every position on the floor.
Nicole signed with Oklahoma City University and played volleyball there for three years. She started as a middle blocker until she stepped in as a libero mid-way through her freshman year and remained their throughout her career.
While completing her degree in biology at UCO, Nicole is currently the 6th grade volleyball coach for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as well as the freshman team coach for Edmond Memorial. She will graduate in May, 2010 with an alternative teaching certificate and will then pursue further college courses to become a physician's assistant.
